The Refocus on Recovery 2019 international conference will run from 1300 on 3 September 2019 until 1300 on 5th September 2019 at Nottingham Conference Centre, Burton Street, Nottingham, NG1 4BU, UK.

The aim of the conference is to advance the field of recovery research and to create an international community of influence. The conference brings together leading researchers and people who use mental health services, their carers and informal supporters, mental health workers and professionals, and policy-makers and other stake-holders from across mental health services and wider systems.

Refocus on Recovery is the longest running recovery research conference in the world. Previous conferences in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2017 have each attracted participants from over 20 countries. Feedback from the last international conference in 2017 indicated 91% satisfaction, with the main reasons for attending being personal growth and development, scientific content and networking opportunities. The 2017 international conference was described as ‘inspiring’ and ‘thought-provoking’, with diversity in speakers and a wide range of international perspectives.
